Talk to an EngineerImagine having a highly skilled, awesome workforce, but some of your best people have to stand there and flip a switch to reverse the direction of your tape machine, over and over again. Something had to be done. By implementing an adjustable top and bottom stroke sensor and an easy-to-use HMI screen for inputting the number of cycles, the tape winding process was quickly automated. Now the operator can set it and forget it and move on to higher-value tasks.
With so many sensor options, the best solution here was to use a very nice inductive linear encoder. It’s a great product when the environment is dirty, and you need something really reliable.
Low-cost quick wins in automation are really nice for a first-time client. It’s great to date before you get married and do a big project!
